  1. Funnily enough out of all the foods available in my part of the world Mexican doesn't seem popular - we have only ever had two restaurants and both closed very quickly. That said, I did quite enjoy it but prefer the version my husband does at home as he makes it exactly to my taste which is not too spicy.

  2. I like Thai food. I like Mexican too but not refried beans:) My favourite dish is German-Rouladen (thin strips of beef and you place salt, pepper, mustard, chopped onion, bacon and a pickle and roll it up like a cabbage roll and cook it like a roast. Mashed potatoes and red cabbage (yum)

  5. My husband and I LOVE Mexican food. He's from California, and every time we go back to visit, we feel like we have to hit up as many of the restaurants as possible. They do it right over there! Your pictures made my mouth water, and it's only 10 in the morning!

  6. Mexican food is my all time favorite type of food. I could eat at our fav Mexican restaurant everyday and never tire of the selection. Making chicken tacos tonight;-)

  7. Yummmm!!! Delicious Tex-Mex...It's one of my faves, too. How can you not love corn, cheese, and more cheese??

  8. I love authentic Mexican food. I have a bunch of places around me. My favorite is fresh squeezed orange and papaya juice one of the restaurants near me makes. And tostadas.

  9. Well how about that. Here I am eating a breakfast burrito. :)

  10. Megan, I think I need to check with you next time we visit California. I was in L.A. in 2011 and never found a Mexican restaurant. Plenty of Ethiopian and Indian food... We should have made an eating itinerary!

David, haha! Eggs wrapped in a tortilla? Although my husband makes a really good Mexican omelet when we have leftover Mexican food in the fridge!

  11. I like Mexican food. Actually, I just love food, the big foodie that I am. As long as its not spicy I am okay with it.

  12. Where do I start my #a2zchallengestop .... First swung by Goodreads and entered your giveaway. Them MEXICAN FOOD... it is FANTASTIC! Not just because I am originally from Mexico City, but because I have lived in several countries before Mexican food was this easy to find and made the French and the Swedes OOH and AH with delight! The Fried Ice cream is more Tex-Mex I am sure but looked GREAT ! I went with Misogyny because in my travels I have noticed that being a woman in the wrong place... is not so great! http://stephie5741.blogspot.com

  13. Only went to a mexican restaurant once as a trip for High School Spanish Class. I enjoyed it and always meant to go back.

  14. I love Mexican comidas! Many of my co-workers are from Mexico so I get to try some traditional breads and sauces that's harder to find. You've made me hungry!

  15. I'm a sucker for Thai and Vietnamese food. Also, anything German/Austrian. Yum. And now I'm hungry :) Mexican food is delicious as well!

  16. I've lived in Nashville most of my life and, at least for the past decade, there have been an overabundance of authentic (well, SEMI-authentic) Mexican restaurants throughout our city. Even in small towns where there isn't even a McDonald's, you'll see a Mexican restaurant thriving. So it amazes me to go places up North where there aren't semi-authentic Mexican restaurants. It also makes me want to get back home as quickly as possible!

  17. It's well past midnight here and I'm hungry. Yum!From where I come, our taste buds are accustomed to spicy food, so Mexican food is a rather loved cuisine in India.

  18. Aarthi, my stepdad is from England and his favorite night out is for curry! My husband loves Indian food, as well. He's not a fan of Mexican food...although there's a Guatemalan Mexican restaurant in this small town we visit sometimes that serves this sauce made from cactus on pork chops. (Odd, but true!) I've searched Nashville for a Mexican restaurant that has that sauce and can't find one near us.

  21. I like most food, not much I don't like. Not that familiar with Mexican food, these days we don't go out to eat much. Not sure if we have a Mexican restaurant here. Chinese is one of my favourites I guess.

  22. I have too many favorites to name. Mexican food definitely ranks up top in my list. Yum.

  23. My step-son has fallen in love with my mom... sopita, refried beans, fresh home-made salsa. Oh yeah, Mexican food is amazing. Now I want some sopes or tamales.

  24. Before I moved to the States I had no real experiences with Mexican food but the moment I started going to Mexican restaurants it became one of my favorite cuisines. Love the chips and salsa appetizer to start out and then a variety of different dishes for my entree. One thing worth noting with Mexican cuisine is that I always leave the restaurant full, and never have any room for dessert which I have always thought looks awesome!

Great choice for your Indulgences series!

  26. Oh dear - come to Texas - truly - we'll put you up pronto and you'll be in Tex Mex heaven.
Mi Cocina is a fave. Abuelos, Miguelitos, Joe T's, etc. My husband makes killer margaritas. you would swoon. Great M word and thanks for visiting.

  27. Yum, now that looks wonderful. Unfortunately, no one else in my immediate family likes this kind of food so I have to wait until I go see my brother and father in Texas--then I can definitely talk food indulgence with you.

  28. That food looks so good that I had to find out where the nearest Chuy's was. Kansas City is a bit of a drive from Minneapolis... I love Mexican, Chinese, Ethiopian, Thai, pretty much everything but German, Swedish and Irish (although I do love corned beef).

  29. Oh gosh, now I want Mexican food! All the pictures looked delicious! I don't think we have Chuy's here; after I finish writing this comment, I'm going to google and see.

My favorite food, geesh, the question should be what is not your favorite food, LOL :) I love it all (and that's why I'm 30 pounds overweight :)

  30. Chuy's - how do I love thee! I could eat Mexican food three meals a day for the rest of my life. I'll dream of shrimp fajitas and cheese enchiladas tonight.

  31. I haven't tried too much Mexican food, but nachos seem here (India) to stay! I'm not even sure how authentic the preparations are.
This looks yummy. Love the colors!

  32. Stephanie,

Mexican food is very popular in Australia but we don't seem to have many Mexican restaurants (at least not near us.) We have lots of Thai restaurants though. I love a curry feast. Ice cream to follow!

  33. Thai is my favorite, but I adore Mexican.

    ReplyDelete
  34. My favourite food would have to be Chinese, which I eat with chopsticks of course. I always love to see the smile when I refuse the 'fork and spoon' arrangement that's offered in restaurants.

  35. Love, love Mexican food! For some reason nothing compares to chips and salsa at a Mexican place!
